In all of our years of sales training, the number one question we are asked is “How did you come up with the name Dancing Elephants?”
The answer lies in our mission and purpose. Our company was created with only one focus. Results matter above all else. We wanted to run a business that concentrated on making money for our clients. In addition we knew we wanted to do it in a fun, irreverent way. What good is learning something new if you can’t have fun doing it? Simply put, we wanted to make an impact and enjoy doing it.
That’s when the idea came to us. If you were in a room full of dancing elephants you’d feel the impact. The walls would vibrate, the floor would shake, the chandeliers would rattle, and you’d know the elephants were there. And you’d be laughing and having fun the whole time. We knew then that the name was ours.
Elephants Rule!Once we had the name and the cool logo, we did some more research into elephants and the symbolism associated with them. And were we ever surprised!
Have you ever heard the old joke “How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time!” Interestingly, it completely correlates with our philosophy of learning. Most people need to make huge changes in the way they do things – elephant-sized you might say. Rather than tackling the whole thing at once we teach our students to break their goals into bite-sized pieces.
We also have a methodology that supports the adage “Elephants never forget.” All of our learning is designed to last for a lifetime. We don’t believe in the quick-fix, magic pill theories espoused by some trainers. Instead we’ll show you how to incorporate your new skills into your daily habits for life-long results.
Elephants have even more positive symbolism. They are the Chinese symbol of good fortune, something extremely important to salespeople and business owners!
In Indian mythology, the deity Ganesh is the Remover of Obstacles. Our teachings show our students how to eliminate excuses and obstacles from their lives and hit every goal they set!
Do you have an elephant parable, story, or symbol to share? Send it to us – if we use it, we’ll send you a free gift!
